Credits & licenses
Anoteo stands on open projects and public databases. Thanks to everyone behind them.
Open Food Facts (ODbL)
Barcode databases are based on Open Food Facts — the collaborative food-products database — under the Open Database License (ODbL). The derived packs we distribute are available under the same license. openfoodfacts.org
USDA FoodData Central (public domain)
The foods and nutrition database is based on USDA FoodData Central data, which is in the public domain. fdc.nal.usda.gov
Israeli National Nutrition Database — Ministry of Health (Tzameret)
About 4,500 Israeli foods and dishes in the foods database are based on the Israeli National Nutrition Database (Tzameret) of the Israel Ministry of Health, published as open data on the Israel Government Data portal under its terms of use. Names were translated and the data was adapted for the app; the Ministry of Health is not responsible for this use and does not endorse Anoteo. data.gov.il/dataset/nutrition-database
llama.cpp (MIT license)
The on-device model runtime is llama.cpp by Georgi Gerganov and the community, under the MIT license. github.com/ggml-org/llama.cpp
The AI models
Meal analysis is powered by the open model Gemma 4 (Google DeepMind, under the Gemma Terms of Use) — including AnoteoAI E2B, our own model built on it — in quantized (GGUF) builds that run entirely on-device.
Speech, OCR & Apple frameworks
Speech recognition, menu/label text recognition, Apple Health, CloudKit and App Intents are built on Apple's frameworks and run on-device.
