Shabbat and holiday mode
Shabbat and holiday mode keeps Shabbat and the holidays quiet, understands that a rest day isn't a missed day, and adds kosher tags to your meals. Everything is off by default and turns on with one tap.
What it does
- Complete quiet on Shabbat and holidays: from candle lighting until nightfall there are no notifications or reminders — by your city's custom (Jerusalem 40 minutes before sunset, Haifa 30, elsewhere 18).
- The day score understands: Shabbat and holidays count as rest days, Yom Kippur and Tisha B'Av as fast days, and your streak doesn't break.
- A kosher tag on every meal — meat, dairy or pareve — with a note on meat and dairy together, and how long until dairy (1, 3, 5.5 or 6 hours, by your custom).
- After Shabbat and holidays: a “Shavua tov!” card that reminds you to log what you ate.
- The four minor public fasts count as fast days — only if you choose.
How to turn it on
- 1.In Settings › “Shabbat, holidays & Ramadan”, turn on “Shabbat and holiday mode”.
- 2.Pick a city from 40 worldwide — no location permission needed. Outside Israel, holidays last two days.
- 3.That's it. Times are computed on your phone from the Hebrew calendar and sunset, checked against hebcal.com to within a minute.
Privacy
- Nothing leaves your phone: the city and your choices are stored only on the device.
- It works offline, and “Delete all data” erases these settings too.
Good to know
- Kosher tags are based on the ingredients — they are not a kashrut certificate.
- On iPhone, repeating reminders you set yourself (supplements, workouts, meal planning) keep their times. On Android they go quiet too.
